The Most Important Asset Your Business Can Have

Another HintDo you know what the ultimate asset is that you can create for your business? I’m currently working on a new e-book and series of videos that talks about what the ultimate asset is and how you can create it. This asset is not something you just buy with money, although it will bring you a significant increase in income if you have it.

I’m not going to reveal what the ultimate asset is in this post, but I do want to give you a few hints and things to think about that are related before I start releasing the content on Tuesday.

Across consumer markets, attention is becoming the scarcest - and so most strategically vital - resource in the value chain. Attention scarcity is fundamentally reshaping the economics of most industries it touches. (Hague 2005)

Attention deficiency will kill your business. If you can’t get the attention of your market, you can’t make your offer. If you can’t make your offer you don’t make money. It’s that simple. Unfortunately, in the information age, attention is getting increasingly scarce.

In my upcoming e-book I discuss the source of this scarcity and how you can overcome it. The ultimate asset I referred to above also happens to be the ultimate cure for attention scarcity.

Here’s one more hint about the ultimate asset and a preview from the e-book.

Get Attention then Maintain Attention to Build a Relationship

Stay tuned for the first video on Tuesday. This is THE most important content that I have made as a podcasting and marketing consultant. You don’t want to miss it.

    oooh…ooh!!! Lemme guess!

I’m guessing that you are going to say that the most important asset is your own “house list” of opt-in prospects and previously customers who’ve actually purchased something.

If this is right, then I would have to agree with you 100%. The population is what? 6 BILLION and growing? I’ve heard that if you add up all the people who have every lived over the years, the current population alive today would be equal to roughly 45% of that number.

The ability to forge relationships with a smaller group (small could be 200, 2,000, or 200,000 depending on your biz…it’s ALL small compared to 6 BILLION) so that you become the ONLY choice for your particular product/service.

Business has always been about relationships…but it seems we’ve forgotten that and steered away starting in the 1960s.

I think that the new technology will enable people to forge relationships anew with their customers if biz owners make the needed changes. The ones who do will see their biz grow. Others will suffer.

I always thought that the most important asset a business could have was its employees. They are foundation of any good business and will definitely have an efect on its profitability.
