PodShowTV Showing on a Tivo Near You

Paul Colligan points out that PodShow is gearing up to put their content on Tivo. I’ve been luke warm about PodShow in the past, but this is definitely an impressive coup for PodShow’s content creators as well as podcasting in general.

For podcasting to bust into the next growth spurt in adoption, consumption needs to be as easy as dialing up the radio or selecting a channel on TV. Well, I’d say this give us more of that which is always a good thing.

Imagine…now you can tell your grandparents to watch your show and actually expect that they could do it (assuming they have Tivo). That’s the litmus test.

I also like it whenever we get additional “frictionless” podcast consumption avenues that don’t start with a lower case “i” (nothing against Apple, but we need more than just them).

This timely announcement comes right before the Podcast Expo in California next week. It will be interesting to see what the buzz is during the event. At least this year it is more than controversies surrounding un-expos and Hummer limos.

I am a TIVO person and am happy to see that some of the Podshow programs, namely Textra an GeekTV go onto TIVO. Anything is better than Rocketboom- I just don’t and have never GOT Rocketboom’s message if there was ever anything. the boom was never as good after Amanda left.

Just a note, your last podcast explaining how to basically switch up feeds for podcasts is exactly a solution to a problem I am about to attack. Thanks for the “Timely” sound advice.
