Could You Run Your Own Social Network with WordPress?
I encourage all online content creators to develop a community (or even a social network) around their brand. This recent post on GigaOM explores using WordPress for running your own social network. This is an exciting possibility that would turn my favorite content publishing platform into an even more powerful community creation tool. The DiSo (Distributed Social Networking applications) project is looking at using WordPress to provide profiles and applications that are compatible across multiple networks. Also of interest is BuddyPress, a suite of plugins being developed to make WordPress MU into a social networking platform.

The ADM has elected its first board. The list consists of a lot of bright people. There’s potential here for some great things to happen to help internet content creators succeed.
