New iTunes Category Pages
A little while back I wrote about the category changes implemented by iTunes. iTunes had also temporarily removed the Top 100 list for each individual category. Well, now the top 100 lists are back with a bonus feature…
…each category & sub-category gets its own page!
This is a big improvement. Despite iTunes’ position as the largest and most visited/used podcast directory, they’ve been far from the easiest to browse. Finding good podcasts just got much easier. This can only be good for podcasters.
Each category page provides:
- A "New and Notable" section
- A "Featured" list
- A top 100 list
As usual, the top 100 list is based on the number of recent new subscribers a podcast has received in iTunes. The "New and Notable" and, to the best of my knowledge, "Featured" podcasts are chosen by the iTunes staff.
