I work a little bit in the corporate training field, and it's immensely useful to have a podcast that you can give to all of your employees (or direct them to download) so that they can catch up on the latest in the company. Podcasting is hardly dead. Just like any new technology, the initial wave of excitement is over and people are now figuring out the practicalities. Chris is right. After the initial hype a few years ago things died down a bit as people failed to grasp it usefulness. But now corporations are integrating podcasts into training, onboarding and such. "Audio on demand" has a host of uses and I think the next few years will see podcasting making a comeback and filtering its way into consumers of all kind.
