I Gotta Tell Ya…I Feel Stuck

Tuesday, April 22nd, 2008

Stuck in the MudI’ve tried to post something new to this blog multiple times over the past couple weeks, but each time I struggled to come up with something worth publishing. The truth is I’ve felt stuck.

Sure, I could just post a new technique, tool or tutorial (and I plan to continue doing so), but every time I sat down to write there was a mental block. I finally found the source of the problem. (more…)

Finally Settled In; Time to Blog and Podcast Again

Tuesday, February 19th, 2008

Tango in Buenos AiresRecently I posted that my wife and I were moving to Buenos Aires, Argentina. Well we’ve finally arrived and are starting to feel settled in. It’s time to bring my blog and podcast silence to the end. Thank you for your patience (if I can be so presumptuous to assume that anyone noticed my absence).

I want to say thank you to the dozens of people who emailed me with well-wishes for this new adventure in our life. It’s cool to feel connected to so many people through social media. In addition, I’ve had several people from Buenos Aires who listen to my podcasts who emailed me to meet up. That is a pretty amazing phenomenon to me.

Tonight I’m Moving to Buenos Aires

Saturday, February 09th, 2008

Buenos AiresYou’ve probably noticed that there has been a bit of silence on my blog and podcast. Well, I’ve been feverishly getting ready for a big move…to Buenos Aires. My wife and I are off for a new adventure in Argentina for at least six months. The preparations have consumed me much more than I expected. We leave tonight.

I plan on continuing my podcasts, blogs, courses, etc. while living down there. I also plan to be back in the U.S. for the New Media Expo.

My Site is Back!

Tuesday, January 08th, 2008

You’ve probably noticed that the site was M.I.A over the last few days. This afternoon I finally got them to find the problem (which I had been telling them since Friday but they didn’t believe me). On Friday the host screwed up while doing a backup and my web address starting pointing to other people’s web sites. I’m happy to say my web address is no longer promoting cigars and other tobacco products.

Probably the worst part is that my email has been bouncing that entire time. The email is still not back in action, but in the meantime you can reach me at jasonvano AT gmail DOT com if you need. My usual email should be back up soon.

What’s In Store for Podcasting and Online Media in 2008?

Friday, December 14th, 2007

Wednesday night I had the pleasure of participating in a panel for Paul Colligan’s New Media Matters show. Paul, Lee Gibbons (Podango), Tim Bourquin (New Media Expo), Dave Jackson (School of Podcasting) and I had a great discussion about 2007 and what is in store for 2008. I encourage you to listen in when the audio is posted. In the meantime, I’d love to have the take of other online content creators who are in the trenches—you.

Here are the three questions Paul posed to us.

If Podcasting is Dead, Why is My Book #1?

Thursday, October 18th, 2007

Amazon Broadcasting

There are some in the blogosphere who say podcasting is dead. To them I ask: if podcasting is dead, then why is my book currently #1 in the broadcasting category on Amazon

Wednesday, October 03rd, 2007

Microsoft just announced Zune 2 and this time, podcasts are supported. The presence of the Zune guys at the New Media Expo was indication that something exciting was on the horizon, but when I had dinner with them on Saturday night their lips were sealed. Now the news is confirmed. Here are the important details.

  • The Zune Marketplace will soon include a select number of audio and video podcasts
  • You also be able to subscribe to any other podcast by entering an RSS feed address
  • Zune 2 will sync via wireless at home (very handy for podcast syncing)
  • The new Zunes will be available this holiday season
