A Hands On Podcast Experience

Mighty SeekDan Kuykendall is host of Mighty Seek, a podcast on Web Application Security. You might know him as the creator of Podpress, one of the best podcast publishing systems available (and it’s free). But that’s not what this post is about.

I wanted to share with you something that Dan is doing to enhance the experience of listening to his podcast. In what he’s calling the "Hands On Series", Dan talks about specific ways that hackers can take advantage of weaknesses in web apps. During the show, listeners can experience things first hand on a special "hack me" site that Dan created. All the information needed to play along is included in the show notes.

There are a few things I really like about this:

  1. It’s an interactive experience for the podcast listener.
  2. It enhances the learning experience.
  3. It gets the listener to his site and show notes.

Does this spark any idea about how to create a "hands on" experience for your listeners?
