A Great Podcast Marketing Tool Just Got Better | The All New Headline Animator
In Promoting Your Podcast, I talk about a very useful tool from FeedBurner called the Headline Animator. This is a widget that you can use to promote your podcast (for example in your forum or email signature). It automatically scrolls through the titles of the last five posts on your feed.
Well, this tool just got more useful not too mention more aesthetically pleasing. Now you can:
- Design your own background theme (GIF)
- Make it any size
- Change the font size and color of various elements (such as the deadline or episode titles)
- Drag and drop different elements to get the layout you want
Here’s a screenshot of one I threw together:
The process was pretty easy, although while dragging the different elements around, the interface kept snapping them to a grid just slightly off of what I would have liked.
Take a look at the blog post announcing the new feature for an idea of the designed you can make. They’ve indicated even more new features are on the way such as preset templates you can choose from.
FeedBurner has one caution when switching to a “design your own” Headline Animator:
Very important for people currently using Headline Animator. When you change
your Headline Animator, you change the way it looks everywhere it’s currently being displayed. So if you change the size of the widget, keep in mind you’re changing the live version of this widget wherever it’s currently being rendered…
