What No One Else Will Tell You About BlogWorld Expo

Friday, November 30th, 2007

Here’s the first ever video post for my blog. I’m hoping to do more of these in the future. Some will be tips. Some will be tutorials. Some will be rants/commentary. If the videos go well, I may create a feed for subscribing to and downloading them.

This video is my review of the event after attending and speaking at the BlogWorld Expo. We need some more straight talk about these kinds of things so I give you the good, the bad and the ugly. In fact, there was more I didn’t like than I did. The details are in the video.

The Most Important New Media News in a Matter of Minutes

Wednesday, November 21st, 2007

This post starts a new feature on my blog called New Media Digests. These will be regular posts (probably 3-4 times per month) that quickly summarize the most important links, headlines and resources related to the new media world to keep you up to date in a matter of a few minutes.

I’m constantly monitoring a number of blogs, news feeds and other internet chatter to keep up on our lightning fast industry. Many times a week I find myself thinking, “I should blog about that.” The problem is that I don’t have time to write a complete post about every little thing I discover nor do you have time to read all those posts. I could just do one of the del.icio.us bookmark auto-posts, but that doesn’t tell you why I thought it was important or why I wanted to share it with you.

BlogWorld 2007This Thursday and Friday is the first BlogWorld and New Media Expo in Las Vegas (not to be confused with the New Media Expo that used to be Ontario, CA and is moving to Las Vegas next year). I’ll be attending and, it turns out, speaking.

I’ve been asked to accomplish the impossible task of filling the shoes of Leesa Barnes who is now unable to make it. I’ll be doing one panel and one solo session. (more…)

Sunday, November 04th, 2007

Penguin's DivingEgad! Did your FeedBurner subscriber stats for yesterday (November 3) dive like mine? Well, rest easy. It’s only temporary. Google Feedfetcher failed to report numbers meaning all your subscribers who use Google Reader and iGoogle were not counted. Things should be back to normal when today’s stats are reported tomorrow morning.
