7 Most Popular Posts of 2006

Sunday, December 31st, 2006

A lot of bloggers are putting together a rundown of their best posts of the year. I don’t like doing anything for the sake of jumping on the bandwagon, but I think it’s an insightful and interesting exercise. At the very least it’s a way for newer readers to get caught up on key content.

I made a list of the seven most popular posts (seemed like a manageable number) based on the amount of discussion they generated on and off the blog. Here are the titles and links. Enjoy!

How to Avoid Podfading in 2007

Saturday, December 30th, 2006

PodfadingAfter a longer than expected holiday break from blogging, I’m back in action with a couple posts to take us into 2007. This first one is on podfading (the phenomenon of fizzling out and ending your show, often abruptly or unexpectedly).

A question was raised on the Podcast Alley forums about how to avoid podfading. After reading my book, a podcaster was worried that a podcast I featured had since ended despite the fact that I thought they were doing things well. It was also pointed out that one of my own podcasts is currently on hiatus and in danger of podfading.

The New School
I’m excited to announce that we’ve firmed up a time and location for PodCamp NYC. The event will take place on Saturday, April 7th at The New School in Manhattan. The New School’s progressive and forward-thinking philosophy make this an ideal match up. They are very excited for the event as are we.

On another note, The New School will be adding a social media class to it’s roster next semester. Very cool.

Citizen’s Concert | What do Handel’s Messiah and social media have in common?

Monday, December 18th, 2006

HandelLast night I attended a sing-a-long performance of Handel’s Messiah. However, this was no ordinary concert.

This could prove to be a valuable resource for finding quality content online. As more and more podcasts hit the Internet (over 100,000 now), portals and search tools such as this will be increasingly important for helping consumers find relevant content.
